Start Here!

Welcome to Julia’s Creative Corner!

The sheer amount of options to click on in the menu, everything in the sidebar, and all the posts may be overwhelming when you’re new here. This page will help you to navigate your way around, become familiar with the blog, and find that place to subscribe! (Everyone seems to always need help with that… 😂)

Feel free to skim and read only what you’re interested in learning about!

The Menu

I’ll give you a quick rundown of everything that is on the menu, so you can find what you want!

Home: This is a very much abbreviated version of this page. The main essentials are mentioned on it, but most are left out, so you probably want to keep reading. 😉

Start Here!: That’s where you are! It gives you, a reader, a tour of the blog so you can be a pro at navigating – without any stress.

About: The about page tells you about the blog, and then about me, the blogger behind it!

WIPs: I am a writer, and if you want to know what projects I’m currently working on, then you can check out this page! (There are temporary covers as well 😉)

Goals: If you hover over the WIPs menu, then you can find the one about my goals! It’s just there to keep me accountable by declaring what I’ll do to the world. Feel free to look at it, though!

Blog Buttons: If you’re a blogger and want to swap buttons, then you can look at this page! If you’re not a blogger but would like to find new blogs to read, you can look at this page and click through the buttons that I’ve swapped with people! If you aren’t familiar with what a blog button is, it basically is just a graphic made by the blogger for other bloggers to post on their blogs. This helps us with outreach and is both a kind thing to do for other bloggers in exchange for them being kind back to you.

Freebies: Currently, there are 3 things on this page that you can download for free, and only one requires you to submit your email!

Resources: This is only for those who are subscribed through email to my blog. They get the password to access more freebies to help with their writing journey!

The Sidebar

There are actually quite a few things in the sidebar, so here’s a quick description of each.

Search Bar: If you’re looking for a specific post, then you can just search it up here!

About Me: Even if you don’t read the actual About page, you can find a bit about me in this spot, as well as a picture.

Follow Blog Via WordPress Email: Using WordPress, you can follow my blog and get email notifications from them.

Follow Blog Via WordPress: If you are a WordPress user, you know that you have a Reader. By following with this, my posts will show up in your Reader! 😃

Recent Posts: This is a quick view on the past 3 posts that I’ve done so you know what’s going on.

Archives: You can find posts from past months here. Just keep in mind that the January with 30 posts was when I moved to my last blog domain; I had to publish all my old posts on there when I did so. I did not actually post 30 new posts.

Categories: If you’re looking for a specific post, you can quickly see if I have it available here!

Tags: I use tags on posts, and this is one big tag cloud of all the tags I’ve ever used.

Content: This is a firm request from me to please not steal any of my content. Anything that isn’t mine (such as a GIF taken from Google) is stated at the bottom of a post. Anything not mentioned belongs to me.

Finding the Follow Button

I mentioned how people have trouble figuring out how to follow, so I’ll make this easy.

You can click here and subscribe. For doing so, you get a free 7-day course on kicking writer’s-block-butt. I post every 2 weeks on Monday here, and will email you when I do. There’s lots of fun exclusives, such as snippets of my own writing, a monthly newsletter with great music suggestions, and even my Resource’s page password. 😉 The password changes every month, and you need to be on my email list to get it.

Under the Resource tab, you will find suggestions on writing books I’ve personally read and found helpful, blogs I follow and are great for writers, as well as PDFs I make for you to download.

As a quick clarification: following this way is different than email through WordPress. I personally create the emails for this; WordPress just sends you an email notification when I post the other way. I do not influence those emails, so if you want all the extra goodies, make sure you’ve signed up!

Welcome to Julia’s Creative Corner! I hope this page helped you find what you wanted!
