Cover Reveal of Once I Knew

I have barely ever had a chance to collaborate with other bloggers, so it’s pretty awesome that I get to do so not once, but twice in a single month!

Please welcome Miss Victoria Lynn to the stage – and her upcoming novel’s cover, called Once I Knew. It’s the first book in a non-magical fantasy series, The Chronicles of Elira.

Violet lives her quiet life in her sleepy village, trying to remain as dead to the politics that are threatening their world as possible. She follows the rules, stays out of trouble and does her best to remain out of sight from the dreaded and overbearing Kingsmen.

With the new regent on the throne till the prince comes of age, the country has been thrown into a turmoil. Unlike the kindly king before him, the chancellor is overbearing, frightening and tyrannical in his rule. Taxes are bleeding the people dry and without the money or goods to pay, they have been forced into penal servitude and imprisonment by the Kingsmen, who show no mercy. The despair and fear that has taken over their lives has ruled out any level of hope.

When Violet stumbles upon an unconscious and injured Kingsman in the woods, despite the consequences, she is compelled to take care of the injured man. When he wakes and has no memory of his identity or past, she takes the only precaution that will keep her and her grandmother safe; she destroys the evidence of his past life.

If Violet’s lowly Kingsman regains his memory, will she survive the consequences? And will the Kingsman be able to live with his past life? Who will fight to free Elira?

Personally speaking, my interest was definitely piqued after reading the synopsis. I’ve also written fantasy in the past, and it always included magic. But this kind of gives me Ranger’s-Apprentice-vibes 😆 – a high compliment, considering that series is the one that got me started on my journey as a writer. 😉 Characters must rely on their own wit and skill to overcome the conflict of the story.

But! That’s all just me rambling. You’re here to see the cover. 😝

Without further ado…

Ta daaaaaaaaaa!

I love that the font looks so fantasy-ey, if that even makes sense. Kind of medieval.

Once I Knew is now available for pre-order! There are a couple of different fun things surrounding this:

It comes in multiple formats: ebook, paperback, and hardcover.

The hardcover is actually a special edition! It will be formatted different with illustrations and a map that will not be included in the other types of the book. It will also have bonus material as a thank you for splurging on the hardcover with an extra epilogue and sneak peak, also not included in the other editions.

Most exciting of all, there is a book box available! There is a limited quantity, however, but they go live today at 10 AM EST. They include a special edition hardcover copy (illustrated with bonus scenes and an extra map), a custom Irewolf Co. Candle inspired by the book, two custom stickers, two main character cards with quotes, Colored Map print created by Sweet Sequels, Specialty tea blend inspired by the book, Aesthetic Bookmark with inspirational quote, and pre-release shipping! (Which side note, means you’ll have the book before anyone else!)

Its release day is June 22, 2022, so mark your calendars! 😉

Obviously you’re interested in this book at this point, so here’s some links. 😜
