Welcome to the final week of NaNoWriMo! I’m stretching this one out a little bit longer, as I don’t want to do a single post with the last 2 days separately… but anyway!
At the beginning of NaNoWriMo, I set the goal to revise 100k of my novel.
I am currently, oh, about 50k behind that goal.

That said, let’s see what I can get done this week. After all, the real point of my revising version of NaNoWriMo is to work on this 3rd Draft of my book! 😉

*inserts this gif anyway even after my inspirational pep talk*

~Day 22~
I was a bit *cough* busy today. I had work early, and when I came home, had plans to work on my blog post – finishing inserting all my gifs, tidying it up a bit, etc.
But then something else came up that night that I decided to do instead, and I didn’t do any of that. Or writing. 😆

~Day 23~
I spent this morning getting my blog post out.
Yep, that’s right: I got my post out a day late. That’s been happening to me quite a bit recently, which is unfortunate, but I’d prefer for a post to come out a little later than expected with the time put in that it deserves, you know?

I had to run off to do a bajillion things this morning before leaving for work, so no writing got done either. (This week is just off to a stupendous start, I know 😅😂)

~Day 24~
The first thing I did was work on this blog post.
The next thing I did was work on future blog posts.

So um I really needed to do that?? Because obviously I’ve been working on writing all month, and that means that I don’t have too much prepared for after NaNoWriMo is over. I decided that it would probably be an extremely beneficial investment in myself if I took a day and worked on blog posts instead. 😅😂

I also ended up working on that blog post again; there was some design stuff involved, which I’m sure you will enjoy seeing. 😉

~Day 26~
I set my alarm for 4:20 in the morning today – and woke up with no memory of it going off at 5:20.

Yeah, so, I work retail, and today is Black Friday. And I take the bus. And need to be at work in time to start at 7:30.
Needless to say, I did not do any writing this morning. But, once I came back home from work, I actually finally sat down and finished up that scene that had terrified me so much last week. It wasn’t too bad, and I’m quite pleased with it. There also was an amusing line hidden within the scene that I laughed at, so that was fun.

~Day 27~
My dad was super nice and drove me to work this morning. It was still early, but that at least meant I got in some sleep. 😂
And you know what?
IT WAS EVEN BUSIER THAN THE DAY BEFORE. *head desk*
By the time I finished my shift, I was exhausted. I came home, and my family and I set up our tree!

Ignore the pillows. And the way I cut off our angel’s head. 😛
So, yeah. Sang to some Christmas music, set up a whole tree, and did not get any writing in. 🤣

~Day 28~
Sunday! The day of rest!
…sort of. 🤣

I got up, and first thing, got busy. For one thing, I was informed this morning that we were taking our family photo today.
I won’t even go into too much detail about today; just picture me running around, taking photos, decorating our tree, cooking a bunch, watching Little Women, and, of course, listening to Christmas music. And, as I’m sure you’ve guessed by now… not writing. 🤣

~Day 29~
Today is the day I would usually post. But, due to the fact that I don’t want to do another post of just 2 days… I’m throwing in the final 2 days of NaNoWriMo before ending this month’s series. 😜
And, as I can finally listen to Christmas music now, it is of course the perfect time to work on the Christmas scenes in my book!

Looking at the changes I want to add in and just being like, “Where?? Where do you want me to add this in?!” at myself.
Snippet:
“Do you remember that cat she wanted to bring home?” I blurt out.

I’m sorry, but I just have to say that I really love those numbers 🤣
~Day 30~
It’s the final day! And I must say already, I have never failed at hitting a goal quite so spectacularly as by 40k. 🤣

All that said, I’m quite pleased still with how I’ve done so far during November – and as for today, I’m ready to continue on to the second part of this Christmas scene. 😉

That moment when you need to take out an action, but a good chunk of amazing banter stems from it and you don’t want to take the banter out. 😂 This is definitely a kill-your-darlings moment; I’m going to have to take out the dialogue. *cri*
I ended up staring at my screen for a while, trying to figure out what I would write to replace the dialogue. There’s going to be a pretty empty space there that needs to be filled. I finally ended up decided to just start and see where it went.
It ended up being a very banter-ey scene – likely because I was unhappy about getting rid of some. 🤣
Snippet:
“You know what?” I note. “I think I’m going to go help the other customers. They definitely look like they need drinks right now; it’s very urgent. Can’t stick around. Cheerio.”
“Did you actually just say cheerio?” Ari looks up at me.
“What? We live in Canada! Didn’t we use to be British or something?”
“Cheerios are something you eat for breakfast, Sonder. A really, really gross breakfast. Also, you’re not British.”
“But our founding fathers-”
“Don’t you found fathers me-”
I’m sorry, but every time I see this snippet here while I’m editing this post, I can’t help but reread it 😂 It’s awesome.

This is what I feel like this week was:

It definitely wasn’t the ending that I envisioned for this NaNoWriMo, but life happens sometimes. Maybe that makes this the perfect ending, then, because you got to see what happens to me quite a bit with my writing. 😉 I’ll just keep telling myself that. 😝
This is the last post of the month, but I won’t show the bingo. 😅 Just know I definitely didn’t win that one, either. 😂
Overall, though, I’m still happy with how I did this month. I got through a good chunk of my revisions, and will continue working on those as we now enter December. 😉

Did you win NaNoWriMo?
Ready to join me in the revising territory? 😈😝
And what do you think about this final week of mine? 😛

Thank you! Despite the way I dubbed it a failure in this post, I am quite pleased that I got that much done 😁😆 Ooooooh, thank you! *happily accepts chocolate and coffee*
