Whew! Camp NaNoWiMo is officially over! It’s time for all of us writers to indulge ourselves in a little celebration; let’s start with a fun post today, shall we? 😉
Writers are queer creatures. We do weird things. So, after blogging for nigh on 2 years and 9 months, it’s high time for me to post about this. 😝 And what better way to do it than in a collab?
Please welcome to center stage my sister, Mary! She’s the blogger behind Wild Writing Dreams, and a writer herself. She suggested to me one Saturday afternoon that we do this collab. Each of us are going to name 10 things that writers do, using GIFs to make our point. 😉 Make sure you check out to see her post on this!
1. We can be bad at accepting compliments… but we love getting them.

It really is an awkward situation. We love to hear how amazing our writing is, but we have the worst time ever accepting compliments. I mean, surely there’s something wrong with our writing, right? (if you don’t think this way, you’re awesome)
2. We can enjoy a snack while writing.

Lots of writers like to have a cup of coffee or tea by their side as they embark on their writing for the day.
3. We love a good fight scene

When I watch a movie with a good fight scene, I find myself squealing over it with every other move. Or screaming in terror for the character. 🤣 But I especially love to write a good fight scene.
4. We can get very excited.

Having a new idea or finally figuring out how to fix your story can cause huge amounts of excitement in a writer.
5. We love to make readers cry

Making someone feel so much emotion over our writing that they’d cry is… amazing. We writers love to hear that we made a reader cry.
6. We love a good play on words.

I love puns, especially ever since I became a writer. A good play on words can have me laughing pretty hard while everyone else gives me weird looks.
7. Writers can be awkward at getting to know other people.

Writers can be better acquainted with words than people, and trying to get to know someone can be tricky.
8. Though we may look like normal people on the outside, we’re actually evil authors on the inside.

We love our characters, but at the same time, it’s so fun to do something mean to them. We truly are evil.
9. Plot twist!

A well-done plot twist being pulled off is the best feeling in the world. Just think of all the readers jaws dropping…!
10. MURDER

Killing off a character? Yes please! Writers love to kill their characters; see number 5.
Enjoy that? Make sure to check out Mary’s side of the collab on her blog!

How many of those do you agree with?
Did you like reading that?
Do you want to see another funny post like this in the future?

Aw this is so great! And yesss, I may or may not secretly like to make readers cry. (Getting someone to feel emotional over your book is like a HUGE win, right!?)
