How is My Blog Performing in June 2018?

Hey there!

The colds are finally leaving me alone this month, but it’s become attack of the headaches instead. Yay me. πŸ˜‚

And my apologies, but I totally forgot to do this yesterday. I went to the zoo, and then I was reading… πŸ˜‚

Total Monthly Visitor Count

Total Monthly Views

We had 676 views this month. (they just keep going down… 😣)

Milestone of the Month

There really wasn’t a milestone this month?? I guess I’ll just go with saying getting through Lilith and Esther’s character arcs and getting the book Structuring Your Novel by K.M. Weiland.

Writing Overview

Planning

All I’ve been doing is planning this month! πŸ˜– I did 2 character arcs (as mentioned above) and have been reading Structuring Your Novel, which also counts as the plotting process.

Writing

I did some random quick writes this month, but they weren’t really part of any novel. I think I wrote a little bit of The Storm Inside at the beginning of the month, but haven’t for a while now.

Behind the Scenes

I am reading…

As I keep mentioning, Structuring Your Novel. I also read some of Graceling (not recommended; I didn’t even finish it) the first Scarlett and Ivy book, Sisters of Glass, and Nevermoor (which I really enjoyed!). I’ve got a few more books that I’m reading/planning to read this summer, so we’ll see how many I get through!

I am drawing…

I drew some characters from my book, and the first two didn’t look half bad! The third one I threw away because it was awful. πŸ˜‚ But later I tried doing a different character, and although I failed miserably on my first ten or so attempts as I kept errasing parts of him, I eventually just erased it all and flipped the sheet over and did it there. πŸ˜‚ As I mentioned in my last post, I’m considering doing a monthly featuring of a character on my blog, showing a picture, and a short description of them. After I run out of my own characters to do this for, I would like to do it for other writer’s as well! Tell me what you think of that series idea in the comments below! πŸ˜„

I am watching…

I set up the movie UP for my youngest sibling when I was babysitting this month (it was her showtime) but it had been so long since I’d seen it, I sat down and watched it with her. πŸ˜‚ No regrets! The beginning still makes me cry. I also have hung around to watch some Lego Friends with my younger siblings. Those shows are so dramatic! πŸ˜‚ Last night, my family got to finish watching Black Panther. I have been waiting for a while for it. πŸ˜‰ Can’t wait for Ant-Man and Wasp!

Goals for this Coming Month

Blog Goals

Last Month’s

I would love to reach 35 followers, and 1.5k views! πŸ˜ƒ (And if you guys have any post requests, please, tell me below!) I also am interested in making worksheets. Small ones for free, and if they get really big, then maybe low priced. However, before I go investing a lot of time into doing something like that, I would like to know if you’re interested! Vote here! πŸ˜„

Well, I did not reach either of those. Still 3 off for the first one, and about 1k for the second. (yikes!) I got a request for a post recently, and am planning on posting it sometime this coming month!

This Month’s

I would love to actually hit 35 followers this month, and 1k views! (lowering my sights, obviously πŸ˜‚) If you know anybody who would like what I blog about, please, drop a link to them! I would totally appreciate it! I also am going to try to make a (free) worksheet to go along with a post this month. πŸ˜‰

Writing Goals

Last Month’s

Same thing as last month’s! Rewriting The Storm Inside. Seeing as finals are this month, I’ll get to finally get a lot of time to do this! So I want to finish this draft! πŸ˜ƒ

Hahaaaaaaa… yeah that didn’t really happen. πŸ˜‚

This Month’s

This time, my goal is to finish reading Structuring Your Novel and to start plotting according to what it says about plot. This will include lots of brainstorming for scenes.

Social Media Goals

Last Month’s

I want to make more graphics for Pinterest for some of my posts. They won’t appear on my blog, so maybe keep an eye out on my profile to see if you can catch them. 😜

Shoot I forgot all about that! πŸ˜‚ I’m so professional.

This Month’s

My goal for this month is to start going through my writing tips board and click through the pins to see where they lead, and to actually read those posts! That way I can weed out dead links, or ones that go to random places, and get lots of research in! πŸ˜ƒ

Working with Other Bloggers

Last Month’s

I would love to do collaborations with bloggers; if you want to do one with me, please, comment below!

I did a book review this month if that counts. πŸ˜‚

This Month’s

I actually have another blog tour coming up (for a book). I read the book’s blurb, and it just sounded like such a fun story (despite again not being in my usual genre of reading) that I had to be a part of it. 😜

Hush yes I posted this a day late but I’m still saying coming up despite it being today’s post.

  1. JULIA I had no idea you had a self-hosted blog! It’s looking so good! Mad props to you my friend.

Also, I’ve always loved these posts. They go to prove that so much can happen in one month. Good luck with your July Goals! I have no doubt that you’ll be able to achieve them. :))
