Hey there!
March is… over?? Well. It’s been quite a month for my blog! π And good news: I decided to stop combining my blog overviews. Each can have its own separate one. Having them together is just way too long and confusing.
Blog Overview
Follow Count:
I reached 26 subscribers on my mailing list! π± That’s 11 new ones! Welcome, guys! And a shoutout to Starling for talking about me on her blog!! That was awesome!
Most Popular Post of March:
My most popular post is easily Let’s Talk + Appreciate Bloggers. It got 31 comments, and all of them were amazing. It’s my new favorite post. Bloggers agreed with me, and totally said amazing things that were super nice. Thank you, everyone!! I HAVE AMAZING FOLLOWERS. YOU ROCK!
Most Popular Post of All:
It’s Let’s Talk + Appreciate Bloggers!
Total Number of Comments:
There were 75 comments this month! WOAH! That’s 31 more than last month!
And can we just mention all the spam comments I’ve been getting since I moved my blog?? π I got one yesterday that was literally paragraphs long… I don’t know if it was just random letters or a different language, but it was much weirdness.
Highest Visitor Count:
March 27! I got 39 visitors! Wow!
Total Monthly Visitor Count:
We had 160 visitors this month! (And according to analytics, 134 of them were new. π)
Total Number of Views:
There was – wait for it – 1,173 pageviews this month! That’s a lot!
Milestone of the Month:
I enjoyed working with Cassidy from The Amber Illusion this month. π
Writing Overview
Planning:
Once again, a new plot bunny arises from the depths of my mind. It’s a really good one, and I’ve been trying to plan it out, using Ella’s Pinterest Method. (No, you cannot see the board yet; it’s a secret! π)
Writing:
I’ve been busy rewriting The Triad of Caosdif, and got a bunch done! I’m excited to see how much I get done throughout this month of Camp NaNoWriMo!
I’ve been trying to get past this one part of it, though… I had read how I did it in the first draft, and it just… didn’t make that much sense?
… okay fine. I’m horrible at sharing stuff with you guys, but I’m determined to start.
Basically, there was this old warrior lady in the middle of nowhere for no rhyme or reason, and she let these random strangers (my characters) just come into her little hut and spend the night with her. No one does that. Please no, past me.
So, I rewrote it and tried to make her more ‘warrior-like’. And then I just looked at it and knew it still didn’t make sense for her to let them in. (Or, less sense now, because she’s all tough and stuff.)
So I tried again, but it came out so badly. I literally left it for a week, I hated it so much.
But yesterday, I finally came back and began to rewrite it again. Now, it’ll make so much more sense! She lets them in because they helped save her from a group of soldiers who were riding through. (Derek, the bad brother, has sent soldiers out looking for Lilith, and I know from my history lessons – yes I actually remember stuff, Mommy – that the soldiers used to take food from the people as they went through. Literally, until the people were starving. It was bad. But anyway, in the story, because it’s the middle of nowhere with no food anywhere close by, the soldiers are trying to steal from the lady, and she’s fighting them, but there’s too many. Then my characters come along and help her, and to repay them, she allows them to stay the night. Much more sense, right?)
Behind the Scenes
I am reading…
I read The Bronze Bow for school this month, and it was a lot better than I thought it would be! (I have to read Romeo and Juliet next year for school, so I think that was the last good book I’ll ever get to read for school… of course, any good book for school is far and few in between. π) I also reread the Bliss series, which is a trilogy all about food… π
I am drawing…
I am attempting to draw some characters from books I’ve written. One came out okay, actually. π
I am watching…
Hey, look at this! A new section! But I decided to add this in, and it’s replacing the coloring section because if you look at the past few months I never color.
This month, we watched The Peanuts Movie again. Ha, love it. Especially when Snoopy is starting to write. My dad was just laughing and making writer jokes about how we feel. But so relatable! Like he’s fighting with the typewriter, thinking with flashes of lightning going on in the background, and is even evil laughing about his idea! So much relatable writerly-ness.
Goals for this Coming Month
Blog Goals:
I want to reach 30 followers! (For the record, I did not expect to reach 26)
Writing Goals:
As it’s Camp NaNoWriMo, I’m aiming to write up to page 100 in The Triad of Caosdif! That means 24 pages of writing. Around one a day, with some breathing room.
Social Media Goals:
I’m going to start slowly going through all the people I’m following, and check out all their boards. That means I’ll probably follow new ones, and unfollow old ones. Anything unrelated to what I do is getting kicked out!
Working with Other Bloggers Goals:
I had a blast working with Cassidy this past month! (We talked about our WIPs, and I interviewed her! Click on each if you missed either post!) I’ve already asked a blogger to do a collab, and am awaiting their response. π If you’re a blogger interested in working with me, then please, comment about that below! I would love to do something with you! π
What do you think about March?
How was your month?
And happy Easter!

I’m so impressed with your blog’s growth (and it sounds like a lot of it happened unexpectedly over the course of one month, which is INSANE and wonderful)! And congrats on getting so many pageviews and followers! I’m really excited for you:)

Great post Julia! Would you be ever so kind as to tell me/us what “Ella’s Pinterest method” is for planning out plot bunnies? I am waiting to get permission from my parents to get an account π but it sounds like a good method that I’d like to try!

Great Post! I just found your blog and I think it’s great π Your theme looks very nice! I hope you reach all your goals, and get through rewriting the section of your novel that didn’t work. And as for your follower goals, I will definitely be following so you can count that as one more follower! π

Thank you! π That’s really awesome of you! (I know that people have had trouble finding the follow button in the past, so it’s just at the bottom of any page. π The Writer’s Block thing. It’s also in the sidebar, and on the freebies page. π)
